The risk matrix defines the probability and the possible effects of an accident at work in two coordinates. A coordinate is defined in the matrix for each hazard in the hazard catalogue. Selecting applicable hazards in a risk assessment results in a measure of the hazardousness of the work to be carried out. The coordinate for the initial risk results from the highest value of the selected hazards.
By selecting protective measures for each relevant hazard, the probability and/or impact of an accident at work is reduced. The aim is to use a suitable combination of measures to achieve a level of occupational safety that enables work to be carried out safely. The software automatically calculates a residual risk from the selected hazards and measures and marks this in the risk matrix. This residual risk calculation helps you to assess whether a job can be carried out safely in compliance with all defined health and safety measures.
